Meet  the Owner

Ron "Slack" Jefferson

Producer & Founder of Slacktraxx ENT.

Ron "Slack" Jefferson a native of Shreveport, LA, began his musical career at the innocent age of six when his favorite uncle bought him his first drum set. He was blessed to have an already accomplished musician to help him along, his father, Charles Ray Collins. He played drums professionally for the famous Archie Bell and the Drells they had a hit record titled "Tighten Up."

Slack’s family, saturated with love, support, and talent nourished his interest in music and encouraged him to pursue music. Like every great musician, he grew up in the church where he and his family prayed together, struggled together, and relished in the bosom of success together. Most importantly the church was the basis of his faith and his driving force that took his career to new heights. He knew that all he had to do was believe in the Lord.

Slack received more experience under the tutelage of two of his school band directors, Mr. Spencer and Mr. Cleveland White. They were instrumental in Slack taking his love for music to the next level.

At age sixteen Slack began to play professionally for a group known as "Hard Times". The group played at various clubs, wedding receptions and proms. The group’s name changed to Touch once they started touring and performing as opening acts for Cameo, Rick James , Zapp and others.

Wanting to spread his wing and be the captain of his own ship, Slack teamed up with Ron Johnson and created a local group called Windstorm, which still in existence today.

What can following your dreams, hard work and perseverance lead to?
